Coconut & Turmeric Paste for Dogs

Turmeric and coconut oil are excellent anti-inflammatory properties, they also help clean the liver of toxins. On top of this turmeric has been known to cure cancer and has a very high level of antioxidants. This combination makes it these ingredients a must have in not only your but your pooches daily diet too.

  • 1/2 cup turmeric powder
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tsp black pepper crushed

In a small sauce pan, gently stir the water and turmeric over a low heat till you have a thick paste (approximately 8 minutes).

Take the paste off the heat and add the coconut oil and pepper and mix thoroughly. The black pepper helps the body absorb1 the turmeric.

How do I feed this to my dog?

We'd recommend starting with putting 1/4 tsp into their food and not exceeding 1/2 tsp. Peanut (my beagle) loves this enough to just lick it directly off the spoon which Pickle (the wise Indie) has it as a spread on toast.

If you're having trouble feeding it to your dogs The Turmeric User Group on facebook can help.

Shelf life: 2 weeks in the refrigerator. 1.5 months if frozen.

Thanks to Dr. Doug English for the recipe
