I am pretty sure that everyone who’s ever had the mildest interest in healthy cooking has been lured in by the siren call of olive oil. Only to realize that it is prohibitively expensive and an oil with an exceedingly low smoking point which makes it very harmful if you’re someone who likes deep frying or searing their food.
While I’ve waxed eloquent about the benefits of trusty old coconut oil for cooking, another true gem is cold pressed sunflower oil! But why do I think that this oil is a veritable powerhouse ingredient for all healthy eating lovers? Here’s why!
Benefits of Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil
Helps in Lowering Cholesterol
Sunflower oil is extremely rich in healthy fats that provide energy maintain an ideal LDL/HDL (good cholesterol) ratio in the body. Additionally, Sunflower oil also contains lecithin which is a key element in lowering bad cholesterol levels in our body.
Cold Pressed Sunflower oil is rich in vitamin E which is instrumental to improve skin health and regenerating dying cells in the body. It has also been directly connected to heart disease prevention and boosts your immune system too.

Keeping all these phenomenal benefits in mind, I made it my one purpose to incorporate this antioxidant rich oil into my diet. This recipe that I have created on my own is super easy to whip up and is a great dinner for those who just don’t have the time to cook something super elaborate.
So without further ado, let’s get into it!
Ingredients for Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil Baked Chicken Breasts
- Baking Dish
- Parchment Paper
- Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil
- 2 Skinless Chicken Breasts
- ½ Minced Garlic
- ½ Lemon
Step 1: Line your baking dish
Line your baking dish with parchment paper to ensure that your chicken doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan. This makes clean up easier too!
Step 2: Marinate the chicken
Marinate your chicken with the minced garlic, pepper, oregano, salt and a generous drizzle of sunflower oil. Keep this overnight for best results but even marinating this for an hour should do the trick.
Step 3: Preheat your oven
When cooking anything in an oven it is integral to preheat it for atleast 10-12 minutes to ensure that your dish is cooked evenly.
Step 4: Cover your chicken with parchment paper and bake
Covering your chicken with a sheet of parchment paper ensures that it doesn’t dry out in the oven. Bake your chicken covered for 15 minutes and then uncovered for about 5 minutes. This ensures that your chicken breast gets a beautiful brown exterior and juicy tender meat inside.
Step 5: Enjoy your chicken!
Simply squeeze some lemon on your chicken breast and garnish with some freshly cracked pepper to enjoy a healthy nourishing meal.
